What does “Neurodivergent” mean?
We are Advocates of Neurodivergent Talent
As a neurodivergent individual, you have different cognitive functioning from what is so-called ‘normal’ or ‘neurotypical’.
We focus on people who are neurodivergent in a genetic or innate sense – people with conditions that make them think differently, such as:
- Autism
- Dyslexia
- Dyspraxia or
- ADHD
We have started the NeuroPool network to help you understand that it is in your interest not to dismiss or omit this pool of extraordinary talent from your business.
And we want to take the fear out of employing these highly skilled and talented individuals who often get overlooked or discarded because they think differently and need some (usually small) adjustments to shine.
As advocates of neurodivergent talent, we run regular free workshops in Yorkshire to educate Employers, HR and Recruitment Professionals as well as Workplace Training Providers about the commercial and environmental benefits of creating a neurodiverse workforce.
We also use our initiative as a networking platform to connect neurodivergent talent with right-fit employment opportunities.
“Many autistic people are simply brilliant people – highly educated, highly capable, detail-oriented, yet unemployed.”
James Mahoney, Executive Director and Head of Autism at Work for JPMorgan Chase.
